Text reads: American Sign Language for the Outdoors: 5 Week Courses, May 28th – June 30th, ASL Level 1, Courses are virtual, meet twice a week, with outside of class course work assigned, students have access to a virtual ASL meet up to practice with other students.
This course is the first part of our ASL 1 course and meets virtually Monday and Wednesday 7pm EST for 5 weeks starting on May 28th and ending on June 30th. With a make up course day schedule for the following week, if needed.
American Sign Language I- Part 1 is their first half of our beginning ASL Course. This level is for students who have little to no previous knowledge of ASL. Students will learn basic conversational skills and vocabulary. In this class, you’ll learn how to communicate with Deaf people while working, recreating, or volunteering in the outdoor field. Our ASL I courses are taught by a native Deaf ASL signer who has extensive experience working in the outdoor fields, and will be able to adjust teaching styles and topics to fit the needs of the students. This course is a shortened version of our typical 10 week ASL courses to provide an option to fit a variety of student’s schedules.
CorpsTHAT’s ASL courses use Zoom to meet virtually twice a week and use Google Classrooms for submitting assignments outside of class time.
5 Week ASL Courses are $250 per student and $200 for any returning CorpsTHAT student. Use the google form below to register. Once you submit your registration form you will be emailed an invoice and can use the link there to make your payment.
