Time: 7 to 8:30 pm EST

Do you want to go on a thru-hike, but you’re not sure where to start? Take our course to learn how. Preparing for a thru-hiking trip might sound so simple: load everything you need into your backpack, and then set off on foot for the wilderness adventure of a lifetime. But, we’re sure that many questions might come to mind: Where to choose? When to go? How to find the time and money? What to carry? How to stay safe and healthy? Register for CorpsTHAT’s first-ever thru-hiking course taught by one of our Deaf outdoor instructors in ASL!

Here are the few things we will cover in class:

-Tricks for saving money by planning properly

-Strategies for eating well no matter how long the journey

-Picking the right gear

-Fitness tips to make sure your body is ready

-Tools and resources to route planning

-How to resupply

Wait a minute…. What is a thru-hike? Thru-hiking is a specialized form of backpacking that is more focused on long-distance and high daily mileage in order to complete a trail within a given time frame compared to most backpackers who take a weekend or weeklong trips.

CorpsTHAT’s Thru-hiking class will take place once per week for two weeks, starting during the first week of March and ending during the second week of March from 7 pm to 8:30 pm EST.
